Once upon a time there were just a few social networking apps and one of them was Foursquare.
Foursquare came along in 2008 and now the service has some 8 million users and the company says it logs about 2.5 million “check-ins” per day. Check-ins are the core activity of Foursquare: arriving at a museum in a new city? Having dinner somewhere? Check-in via Foursquare and tell people!
It’s all about sharing information: where you are, what you are doing, who you are with and a comment about the food, the place, the weather or whatever.
And if you are in New York, wouldn’t you like to tell it to the world? Wouldn’t you like to tell people all the amazing things you are doing?
It looks like a lot of people like it.
